GPS Applications For Marketing
Posted by obit as GPS
When a traveler is moving with his cell phone almost always he would require a place to stay. He would also require some information about the place he is traveling to. There may be several advertisements that can potentially be flashed on a travelers mobile phone that will increase awareness about the product or the service. Here we use a standard GPS system to identify the location of the traveler.
The company that provides advertising services requires to store location specific advertisements in a database. These advertisements can also be indexed with respect to date, type of advertisement or service. The advertisement company can collect tariff on a fixed basis or on a pay per view basis for all the advertisements that are flashed to the mobile traveler.
The standard GPS that is enabled on the mobile device will send back location specific data via a Java script function to a web server. The web server will have windows based programs that will retrieve location specific advertisements. There will also be a response system that will track what the user is looking for. Location specific information will then be flashed to the user.
Even though Mobile advertisements are common, there are not so many advertisements that are specific to a location. The same idea can be extended to Location specific Marketing as well. For example a transport service company can offer reduced rates for frequent travelers to certain locations. Another example is flashing information about sweaters on Mobile phones moving via cold areas or flashing information about sweat relief medicine on Mobile phones going via hot places. The same concept can be applied to Google searches as well. Location specific information can be obtained and be beamed to users going via a specific location.
